Is Container any different from a VM in a cluster with regards to the way licenses are measured ?
Did anyone seen benefits on Oracle license optimization, post implementation of containers?

No expert here, though what I’ve read and discussed with peers it has similarities. Once the image has been brought into a host or a note likely will cause you to license at that level (host/node). Attached is a good overview I refer to in “discussions”

Dear Ram,
The virtualization topic is addressed in the following pdf: https://www.oracle.com/a/ocom/docs/linux/ol-kvm-hard-partitioning.pdf.
Containers could be seen as hard or soft portioning depending on the technology.
Best regards
Dear RAM,
As explained above, it’s really depending on the technology. In order to answer to your question, it’s important to know which kinds of container you are using since it could be considered by Oracle as soft of hard partitioning. But even with soft partitioning technologies such as for VMware, there are solutions.
Best regards
Ram, since you brought up the topic of containers - what toolsets are you using for discovery in the container environment in order to calculate license compliance?
