Hi Dina,
Nice to see you again! I’ll start with a rundown of topics you might consider – let’s start with some financials - and I’ll offer some views to slice these into manageable/understandable chunks – also, some of these may not fit what you’re looking for, as some orgs don’t use all approaches - these are in no particular order of importance:
HW Leases expiring in the Fiscal or Calendar Year (and perhaps at a quarterly or even monthly breakdown)----- Break those down by Equipment Type, Support Group, Owner, Location, ,etc
— Summarize by value & if possible estimate approved budget for replacement, or if extending those leases is a planned cost - or if buying after lease is the planned effort.
End of Life devices - how many devices in Production or in Inventory are beyond their formal support dates, or even truly end of life by the manufacturer – you can include some Risk calcs there
New purchases - summarize the volume, costs, locations of newly acquired equipment during the timeframe.
Inventory – on hand/available equipment type, location, value on the books, run rates/turnover - spend
Audits – how many equipment audits you’ve accomplished in the last 6-12 months, by location, team etc
Disposals - equipment type/model, location, value on the books, if anything was re-sold, Donations,
Reuse- try to capture and display info on how many hardware assets were re-deployed - it shows cost savings, instead of buying something new, you re-used equipment that was retired or returned to stock, which saved $.
Loaners - show how many devices were loaned out, what the avg duration is, and associate that with a positive correlation to reduced downtime for your employees. Show trends on loans if you can as well.
There are a variety of other options as well tied to specific asset tools or concepts like CMDB that might be options, but this will probably get you started
