Hi Sergio,
Welcome aboard!
How do you see the future of machine learning/AI shaping the banking and finance industry?
Hi Sergio,
Welcome aboard!
How do you see the future of machine learning/AI shaping the banking and finance industry?
it is a complex question! Banking Industry had large customer data sets, funds to invest, great engineers, … all positive factors. But it is a traditionally low risk industry and extremely high regulated. New players, digital and cloud native banks are helping to shape the innovation. There are already ML/AI investments assistant, and will see really soon Tax and Accountant Applications; The main two barriers would be the Customer acceptance and confidence and the Regulation.
Hello everyone,
I am George Cook, Chief Excutive, Computers 4 Charity.
I have been datawiping, rebuilding and upgrading computers to give them a true ‘second life’ since 1996, over 27 years.
The ITAM Forum is an opportunity for me to try and be helpful to everyone who is part of this community, as well as people and planet.
I have been married since 1981 (a long time) to my wonderful wife and we have three lovely (but grown up) children and I just became a grandad three month’s ago (he is getting heavy). Otherwise do loads of practical things, ride a Harley Sportster Sport which is totally rebuilt to take it from 69 bhp to 108 bhp (a lot of fun down country lanes in Kent, south east of London, UK).
Hi George,
Welcome to the ITAM Forum community!
Your commitment to refurbishing and upgrading computers for charitable purposes for so long is truly impressive! Congratulations on becoming a grandfather recently as well!
If there’s anything you need assistance with or if you have any insights to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out. The community is here to help!
My name is Tawnya Luther and I am a Hardware Sales Manager for an ITAD company where we handle end of life equipment for corporate accounts. After we bring in material and inventory it, we do the data wipe and reporting back to the customer. Then I help to resale this equipment which we then revenue share back to the customer to help cover their cost for their new equipment. I am joining this forum to gain knowledge of the challenges companies face regarding there refreshes and to keep up to date with how companies are handling their data security, encryptions and enrollments.
I have been in the ITAD space for 20+ years and really enjoy how it is ever changing. There is always some new material type to evaluate. I enjoy being in an industry that is on the forefront of sustainability. To some that is a talking point but to me that is what I do. I look forward to being part of the discussion.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Pedro Cuadros. Over the last 13 years I have been working in this industry. First, from the “Dark Side of the Force” (auditing for Oracle in France) and then on the “Light Side” (LCx) helping customers mostly in Spain, Portugal and LATAM.
Being a lawyer, I’m mostly interested in SAM/software licensing, contracts and audits. I believe in the power of knowledge sharing, and I am excited to learn from and contribute to this talented group of professionals.
I live in Madrid-Spain and enjoy reading, watching Sci-Fi movies and spending time with my family.
Let’s embark on this exciting journey together, leveraging IT Asset Management for greater efficiency and success.
Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this community.
¡Hola Pedro!
Welcome to the community!
It’s great to have someone with your background and experience here, as working in both auditing and assisting customers gives you a unique perspective on SAM and software licensing. Also, it’s wonderful that you believe in the power of knowledge sharing, as that’s what this community is all about
By the way, any favorite Sci-Fi movies or books you’d recommend? I’m always looking for new recommendations myself!
Feel free to share your thoughts, questions, or any topics you’d like to discuss within the ITAM realm. We’re here to help and learn together.
¡Hola Hernán!
Thank you very much for your kind welcome.
Of course I have recommendations, although I will try not to be too “obvious”:
Regarding movies, I’m a big fan of the ones that eventually turn out to be prophetic at some point: Children of Men (2006), Gattaca (1997), Her (2013), etc.
But if you prefer to read something, I’d definitely recommend some graphic novels such as El Incal, Ronin, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Judge Dredd…
Thank you very much, and I remain at your disposal for anything I can do to help.
Cheers!
Pedro
Hi Pedro,
Those are indeed great suggestions, I’m a big fan myself of Children of Men, Akira or Ghost in the Shell. Will have to check out some of the others!
Welcome again to the community!

Hi everyone,

Actually, I was introduced to ITAM industry 8 years ago, where I worked around ITAM implementation focused on the ISO and later joined the team as SAM manager.
