Process of harward Inventory management

Hi everyone,

Can anyone provide me some insight. We have approx 400 laptops in our IT inventory room.
I need a process where I can maintain accurate number of my inventory. The catch is I would have to do it remotely using our IT asset mangement tool.
Please let me know if you have any ideas.

the tool we use is Oomnitza.

I know your tool of choice but no experience with it. Recommend engaging them for their preferred method of remote inventory as the approaches vary by tool with some similarities

OR provide more of what you’re wanting to accomplish, ie inventory from within you’re network to outside, or something else

Hi,
there are surely opportunties to automate but you need to keep in mind that every automation must be controlled thus a on-site verification effort is difficult to avoid, e.g. to perform a physical stock room audit. In case of high bandwith limitation you may choose yealry sampling e.g. targeting to make a sample physical inventory on randomly chosen stock room on monthly or quarterly basis. In case you have only once central stock room, make sure you make such sample physical inventory at least once a year.
