Hi All

I’m doing some research into SnowSoftware, and wanted to get an idea of your experience using the tool for SAM. Specifically, I’m looking to see how it compares to ServiceNiw Sam Pro. It’s possible that I will pursue a POC using SnowSoftware, but wanted to see if this tool has been effective for your SAM practice.

In addition, even though determining what would be the best tool for you depends heavily on the specific use case and current IT landscape (amongst others), it is absolutely helpful to speak to fellow professionals. Can you tell a bit more about the industry your company is in, the geo and perhaps size?

Lastly, typically in comparing Snow to SAM Pro, the question whether or not your company is already using ServiceNow is quite essential in my experience.

Thanks for your input. Our company is currently using ServiceNow SAM.

I will have a look at the Gartner reviews, and will circle back should there be any other thoughts from my end.

I am a heavy Snow Software user. I have limited experience with SamPro. If the IT is already using sevicenow for incident management, as ticketing solution, hardware asset mgt, etc. than it could be easier to achieve higher maturity level processes, but if the IT is not using it, than Snow Software could be an easier start. You should make a list and compare feature that are important to you: verified Oracle Database licensing, Active usage metering( e.g. total active time in a software in the last 6 months), vmware connectors (to be able to automatically scan the vcenter physical layer), etc.
